All the free art programs~  sharing this i got it from :iconrina-ran:

This is to stomp on anyone who thinks they can’t do some art because they don’t have Photoshop or Paint Tool SAI.

This is also for those who don’t want to crack programs, illegally download them, or would like to get their illegal copy off their computer for any reason whatsoever.

I really don’t care if you get your stuff illegally. That’s on you. I don’t like it because I have more respect for the company and myself as I am, and I like to avoid the malware that’s likely bundled and released into the background of all non-legit downloads.

Maybe if I knew about these programs, I would have never bought the ones that I did… oh well.

I have not personally tested many of these out. Maybe I’ll start working down this list to give personal reviews. If you have something to say about any of them, or would like to add to the list, it would be most appreciated.

Also the comment "...or you can just torrent an illegal copy of PS/SAI." is gonna sound REALLY FUCKING DUMB after I give so many free alternatives. Almost every time I give a list like this anywhere, there's some smartass trying to get everyone down on their level. I. DON'T. CARE. if you have an illegal copy and somehow think you're smarter for having such. I will continue to fail and understand your reasoning because I know this long list exists, so we'll just leave it at that.

GIMP
If you haven’t heard about this Photoshop alternative yet, you’re living under a rock in the art world.

Paint.net

Another Photoshop alternative. Some prefer it over GIMP.

Fire Alpaca

Popularly known as the "free SAI alternative". It didn't feel any different to me, and most of my friends who do use free alternatives, choose to go with this one.

Pixlr.com

I’ve used this program a few times for very quick edits. It’s like limited photoshop in your browser.

Krita

Available on Steam as well, this program has received a ton of good reviews on its system, which includes some comic creating capabilities.

Pixia

This is personally what I used to use before in high school before CS or SAI ever existed. It's a very basic and easy to understand program.

MyPaint

I will be testing this one out personally. The unlimited canvas and brushes interest me.

Flowpaint

Qaquarelle

This is suppose to be a program like Artrage and Photoshop... but even I'm iffy from the screenshots alone.

DrawPlus

Artrage Demo

I don't really recommend... Artrage is a great program itself, but the free version/demo is very limited in my opinion...

Twisted Brush

Open Canvas 1.1

I have so many good memories with this program. I didn't really use it to make masterpieces, but anyone with the program can draw TOGETHER. At the same time. On the same canvas. It's like an Oekaki board with more tools and layers and...all kinds of stuff.

Chasys / Chacha's Lab

SketchBook COPIC

akshdgkage *drools* For those of you who can't spend the hundreds of dollars on the markers and don't mind digital... here's a FREE program created to mimic the effects of these awesome markers.
There is also a free legal version of Sketchbook itself... but I can't seem to locate it. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore, but if it does and you know, just link me.

Adobe CS2 May not be legal?

This is an iffy one. Adobe made their CS2 suite AVAILABLE. On their site, they have the download and serial key there free for anyone to come by and take. There's a debate, but honestly Adobe themselves are providing you with the software and key and the product can't even be registered. So... your move. I personally will not inject opinions from the forums and personal friends who would know about this kind of stuff. There are a ton more options on this list afterall. :3
And of course there are Trials for absolutely everything. I don't know which ones happen to last forever like Artrage.

Oekaki Boards

ChibiPaint

I haven't explored this one yet... it says it's an Oekaki board type of program, so I'm listing it here.

Oekaki Central

Well...honestly there's like 1001 Oekaki boards all over the internet... just find a community that suits you. I know I've been part of Pokemon ones, Yaoi boards, MangaBullet (when it existed), and there's one I can't remember for the life of me that is pretty popular... hmmm....

DA Muro

Well... it does exist.

Other Neato stuff- Not your normal paint programs, but you can create some really awesome designs and pictures to share with us all~ And honestly? I think they're easier to use with a mouse.

Alchemy or the browser version, Wechemy

Symmetrical designing. It's like drawing ink blotches... and can be a lot of fun. *spent like an hour slacking off at work to play with this*

Harmony

This one is hard to explain. But I just discovered (as I was fetching the link), if you don't clear your browsing data, the last picture you drew will still be there. So it auto-saves into your browser apparently? I was a big fan of an artist who used to take pokemon requests in this program.

29a.ch

Just... go there and do it. It will only take a minute. It's addicting. And awesome!

Blender

Free 3D modeling program.

Sculptris

Free 3D modeling program.

Google Sketchup

Free 3D modeling for Backgrounds and architecture.

NOW HAVE FUN AND MAKE SOME DARN ART!

Feel free to share. ♥♥♥
